ScreenTap runs on your Mac. Your screen doesn't go to us.
- There's no ScreenTap cloud and no ScreenTap account.
- The MCP server only listens on
127.0.0.1, so other computers on your network can't reach it. - Screenshots go to the agent you connected, and nowhere else.
- Recordings and screenshots are saved on your Mac, in Movies › ScreenTap and Pictures › ScreenTap.
- Audio transcription runs on your Mac. It's off until you turn it on.
- The only thing ScreenTap sends over the internet is your license key, to check it's valid.
What your agent sees
Your agent gets the screenshots it asks for. What it does with them depends on the agent you use, so check its own privacy terms, the same as for anything else you share with it.
