Getting started
First-time setup
The app walks you through this the first time. It takes about two minutes, and you only do it once.
- 1
Allow Camera and Bluetooth
macOS asks for two permissions. Camera lets ScreenTap see the iPhone's screen over USB (it never uses your Mac's own camera). Bluetooth lets it tap and type. - 2
Connect your iPhone
Plug it in with the USB cable and unlock it. If the iPhone asks, tap Trust and enter your passcode. - 3
Pair over Bluetooth
On the iPhone, open Settings › Bluetooth and tap your Mac's name. It's under Other Devices the first time. If iOS asks what kind of device it is, choose Other Device, not Headphones. - 4
Set up the pointer
Go to the iPhone's Home Screen and leave it alone for a few seconds. ScreenTap moves the pointer and measures it, so taps land in the right place. - 5
Connect your agent
The last step shows the command or config for your agent. Each agent has its own guide in Connect your agent.
Next time
Just plug in and unlock your iPhone. It reconnects on its own. To redo any of this, open ScreenTap › Settings › Phone › Run setup again.
Keep the iPhone unlocked while your agent works. The screen pauses when it locks.
